The kind of work I do usually gets supported by institutions like universities. As an independent writer, I have no such support other than occasional paychecks for magazine work.
So I have discreetly placed affiliate links in the articles for the books & films I cover, should you wish to purchase them. Hopefully it creates some value for you– I have often been asked by students and readers where to find some of these things. Clicking on them can save you some time, and the nickles & dimes it sends my way helps me spend more time digging stuff up and writing about it, which I greatly appreciate.
I have also placed a few of these Google Ad-Sense things here & there, mostly as an experiment. We’ll see how they go. If they offer something to you, let me know. If they keep putting up ads for Tony Randall and Randall Knives and Randall Amps, maybe they should go quietly out the door.
